Accurate Machine Products Corporation is a family-owned and operated business, founded in Johnson City, Tennessee in 1946. AMPCO was originally assembled from two separate businesses; Accurate Machine Products and Stewart Metal Fabricators. In order to create a company that would be better organized serve our clients' needs, the two businesses were later merged to become what is now Accurate Machine Products Corporation .

Initially, our efforts were focused on serving the growing textile fiber manufacturing industry in the southeastern United States. As our regional client base quickly became more and more diverse, we began providing quality products to textile fiber industries throughout the world. Accurate Machine Products Corporation is one of the country's finest contract manufacturing companies, providing the Textile Fibers industry with machine components, complete assemblies, spare parts, and other products for over fifty years.

In the mid-1950s, we began working with Atomic Energy Commission (now DOE) facilities. As the Department of Energy began to address the issue of safer and more efficient nuclear shipping containers, Accurate was well-positioned with its Non-Destructive Testing program and ASME code stamp to build the new generation of containers being developed. Although our business has expanded dramatically over the years, we have proudly continued to supply the DOE with nuclear shipping containers and other industries with various pressure vessels of unsurpassed quality.

Most of our skilled management and supervisory team, each and every one an expert machinist or fabricator, learned his trade right here at Accurate Machine Products Corporation through our Apprenticeship Programs. We are one of the few small manufacturing companies which has continually offered Apprenticeships to young individuals wishing to advance their manufacturing careers. We are dedicated to continuing to build a strong foundation of expert craftsmen.

A high personnel turnover rate can adversely affect the relationship between a business and its customers. We are proud at Accurate Machine Products Corp. that many of our dedicated staff have been with us for many years - a few more than 4 decades. Our employees' dedication to the company is evident in the personal service we provide each of our clients.
