These high-speed rolls are precision machined from forgings, chrome plated, and balanced for continuous running at speeds well over 1000 RPM. Along with the guards, chrome oxide coated roll (in the lower right), a mounting plate ( not seen, but precision machined, over 8 feet long and 2 feet wide), and various covers, this assembly is part of a machine standing over 3 stories high.
